Christmas nails take 2 - Sleigh and Reindeer Silhouette with video tutorial!

Hi guys! Today I have some more Christmas nails. I am trying to do slightly less typical Christmas nails so staying away from Santa's face, Rudolph's face, Christmas trees etc and doing more new things. The idea is one thing, but coming up with ideas (and by coming up with I obviously mean Google image searching and Pinterest searching for Christmas images) to use is proving far more difficult than I imagined! Though, in saying that I am pretty happy with the nails I have for today so here they are!

Please keep reading, there might be some good stuff (who knows...)

Giraffe nails

Hey guys! How are you all today? As I am writing this I am on a plane to Hamilton island (Mid north Queensland, for those of you who aren’t from Australia)! So fingers crossed that the weather is nice up there, though I hear it has been raining loads… I was doing my usual scrolling through pinterest to look for pictures I want to paint on my nails, and came across this really cute giraffe painting and decided to challenge myself. Enjoy!

Sailing Boat Nails

Hey guys! How is everyone?? So there is this place near me that is pretty much trampolining land (SkyZone anyone?) and is probably the coolest/funnest thing ever! Especially when you like jumping around like a 5 year old... Though, let me warn you, you definitely get a LOT sorer that when you were 5. I have been practising and practising and I can finally do a front flip! It is pretty exciting (though I am kind of a wimp, and only land it every now and then).

Anyway, about my nails (that incidently, have nothing to do with trampolines... Note to self: do trampoline nails (how?!)). Today I have nails with boats of them. Have a look!

Floral Nails and pictorial!

Hey guys! I opened my shoe boxes to get my polish out and it smells a lot like acetone... I store it on its side, do you think the acetone could start to leak out of the bottle? I think it might be, maybe I will transfer it to another bottle. Though I have dropped a number of brushes in the bottle and now it is kinda a weird colour. I probably could ditch it and start with a brand new bottle!
Anyway, onto my nails! I was googling floral patterns (this seems to be how I come across my designs lately) and I found this pretty one that I though would work well on my nails! I have been wanting to do another watercolour design and this one incorporates that and lets me practise my detailing!

Oh, and this is the picture I was basing my nail art on! I didn't end up doing the lighter roses, but I think it translated pretty well!

I also made a tutorial!
To do the watercolour background I used the technique that I learnt here from the amazing MrCandiiPants! The roses were drawn on with a short nail art brush that I have cut down to make it very fine.

The polishes I used were:
China Glaze White on White
OPI Samoan Sand
China Glaze Something Sweet
China Glaze Heli-Yum
OPI Green-Wich Villiage
China Glaze Starboard
China Glaze Adventure Red-y

That's all for today! See you later guys :-)

Alien Nails!

Hey guys, I have some nails today that were requested by my friend. He wanted aliens and spaceships, so I did alien heads and UFOs... same difference right? For these I didn't really know what I wanted to do for the UFO, though I did want it to look like a typical alien spacecraft. My first try I started with a metallic base for my UFO, but it was a little... harsh? I don't know, it just didn't look right. But then again I have a tendency to only use cremes in my nail art, and I was convinced that this needed some metallic spacey-ness... anyway, Here they are!

The polishes I used today were:
Base:
China Glaze Snow (white) (1 coat)
China Glaze White on White (white) (1 coat)

Aliens:
China Glaze Def Defying (green)
China Glaze Liquid Leather (black)

UFOs:
China Glaze Recycle (grey)
China Glaze Icicle (silver)
China Glaze Liquid Leather (black)
China Glaze Metallic Muse (metallic teal)

I also made a pictorial so you guys can see how they were made!

I hope you guys like these, they were pretty fun to design and paint! See you next time! :-)

Pineapple Nails and pictorial

Hey guys, today I am going to show you a set of nails I did a couple of months ago. These are some of my favourite nails I did over the summer. I have always liked the look of a small repeated pattern, and due to all the fresh fruit around I decided to do a pineapple pattern!

Left Hand

Right Hand
My right hand, as you can see, was considerably less detailed than my left, mainly due to laziness. Being right handed, it becomes very time consuming to do such detailed designs on my right hand as well, so sometimes I cut corners and do a simpler, related design on my right hand.
I have made another pictorial for this design to show you guys how I did this nail art.

The polishes I used were
China Glaze Snow (white)
China Glaze Lemon Fizz (light yellow)
China Glaze Happy Go Lucky (yellow)
China Glaze Gaga For Green (green)
China Glaze StarBoard (dark green)

I also used a medium sized dotting tool and a striping brush

Hope you guys like them!

Disney Inspired Nails

Hey guys, are you ready for some more nail art?! me too! (yes, I assumed you said yes!) These are some nails I did about 2 weeks ago, I was wondering what to paint my nails this time and I was like, how about cartoon characters?! I thought through, with the help of google, all different characters/groups of characters to do. I have wanted to do a Disney nails for a while now but I had my mind set on doing the princesses, but kept putting it off because they were intricate, and I struggle to draw faces... then it came to me! The good old mickey and friends characters!

I decided on Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and after tossing up between Goofy and Pluto, I finally went with Goofy! I love these nails! Though they took beyond forever! Probably about 2 hours, though I did do both my left and right hands this time around, pretty exciting.

I have decided that I will make a pictorial for you guys to show you how I did these.

There you go! I had fun doing these! I'd love to know if anyone else has tried Disney nails?! How did they turn out for you?
